PickPack - POLookahead logic

Consider incoming stock in calculations prior to receipting

Sometimes, in the case of long lead times, it may be desired to transmit orders to the warehouse for picking before stock has arrived via a PO and receipted into the system, so long as this arrives with enough time allowed to fulfill the order. This can be achieved using the POLookahead configuration.

The POLookahead parameter denotes the number of days before the shipping date that is required to fulfil the order once the stock has been received. This overrides the standard picking lead time, allowing for orders to be transmitted so long as stock is due to be received within this many days.

When this configuration is enabled, the process will first attempt to draw from receipted stock to fulfill orders. Once this is depleted, the process then checks for incoming stock due in before the required date and allowing for the appropriate POLookahead time. If stock is due in within this window, the order will transmit now and move from the PickPack Orders Review screen to the Sent to Warehouse screen, as with a standard pick. The order is also tagged and will allocate stock once this has become available within the system.
