Sometimes an issue may be encountered where a drop shipment is not linked to an SO but the PO describes it as being linked. (Photo Below)

Check the individual lines on the original order (in PT) to verify that each individual line has the PO linked box.

In this instance, you will need to manually add the line to the PO and then accept the incoming sales order to fix the issue.
